Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee our company's financial operations on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, proficiency in various accounting software, and a solid understanding of financial processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and budgeting. The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in supporting the company’s financial health and strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full Accounts Receivable (AR) cycle, including billing, collections, reconciliations, and aging analysis.
- Oversee the full Accounts Payable (AP) process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendors.
- Process and review complex payroll for multiple locations, ensuring compliance with employment standards, collective agreements, and applicable legislation.
- Administer payroll in unionized environments, including interpretation and application of collective agreements.
- Prepare monthly financial reconciliations and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with operational managers to resolve financial and payroll-related issues.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Support internal and external audits as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications
- CPA designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) – Required
- Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience in the retirement home, long-term care, or healthcare sector
- Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and employment standards.
- Experience interpreting collective agreements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with accounting and payroll software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
