  • Dual Underwriting roles for Mortgage client division and Lending Private Investor division
  • Receive, review, analyze and verify applications for completeness, accuracy, suitability and risk to ensure compliance with all aspects of the BridgGroup of Companies’ underwriting policies and procedures
  • Responsible for issuing mortgage commitments to brokers & agents

Must follow funding guidelines when closing all private mortgages

  • Responsible for Solicitor's Instructions
  • Review legal documents in a timely and accurate manner
  • Liaison with mortgage agents, RE Acquisition team, lawyers, appraisal companies, creditors, and in-house debt settler to ensure all mortgage files are closed efficiently and within required deadline
  • Review all documentation for a prospective mortgage file to ensure it adheres to all applicable regulations, underwriting guidelines and all internal policies
  • Responsible for completing compliance on all mortgage closings
  • This individual must be knowledgeable with legal documents to ensure all conditions are satisfied and documentation is complete
  • Must be able to understand and read Equifax reports in depth
  • Responsible for fund disbursement for all mortgage closings including construction funding
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all Real Estate acquisition file tasks
  • Track & maintain mortgage records
  • Responsible for sending out weekly reports
  • Responsible for post administration of files but not limited to fund disbursements, mortgage deposits, collection calls, renewals, payout statements and discharges of mortgages
  • Responsible for monthly audit
  • Corporate Events - it is mandatory to attend 6-8 events that may go past 5:00pm and on a weekend
  • Post Administration - Doing deposits, legal power of sales, monthly reporting


  • Must have minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Lending industry
  • Experience in mortgage underwriting is mandatory
  • Experience in Real Estate, Construction budgets, trade payments or mortgage funding will be considered an asset
  • Excellent oral & written skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Advanced in excel software is mandatory
  • Must be deadline oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must work well under pressure and must be able to reach deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of PC based applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Should live in close proximity to office located in Woodbridge
· Minimum of 45 WPM is mandatory

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm (may need to work later from time to time)

Salary: base + annual bonus

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $45,000.00 to $60,000.00 /year


  • Mortgage /Lending Underwriting, Ontario: 3 years (Required)
