We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Regular Full time Painter to join our Maintenance and Engineering team.
Reporting Relationship: Project Director, Planning
Hours of work: Must be available to work Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, schedule may vary.
Employee Group: Teamsters Service
Location: All sites
Paints walls, ceilings, doors, hallways, shelving, and related equipment.
Varnish and stains woodwork where needed.
Prepares surfaces to be plastered.
Fills in nicks and cuts in ceilings, walls, and partitions using plaster.
Mixes colours and orders paint to be used.
Repair drywall and plaster.
Graduate of a recognized Trade or vocational school.
Must hold Minister of College and Universities Certificate of Qualification in the trade of Painter.
Minimum 3 years with hospital experience preferred.
Extensive experience in all aspects of painting, wallpapering, and plastering.
Experience in tile work would be an asset.
Ability to communicate well with staff and patients.
Ability to perform an array of changing duties as required.
Ability to work independently.
Lifts and carries objects such as ladders, containers of paint and wall covering material weighing up to 30 lbs.
Occasionally moves furniture and beds weighing approximately 80 lbs before painting rooms.
Climbs and balances on ladders, scaffolding when painting upper walls, ceilings and stairways.
Kneels, crouches, stoops when preparing and painting surfaces.
Excellent attendance and discipline free record required
