Job description:
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Part-time Janitor to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of our church and church hall. The successful candidate will ensure the facilities are clean, and functional before, during and after events.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize washrooms
- Sweep, mop, vacuum and dust all areas of the church and hall
- Use a floor scrubber machine
- Empty garbage and recycling containers
- Clean kitchen, meeting rooms , entrances and common areas
- Set up and take down tables and chairs for church services, meetings and special events as required
- Restock restrooms and cleaning supplies (provided by church)
- Report maintenance or repair issues to the Church Board or designated supervisor
- Perform season and general cleaning duties needed
- Clean and maintain outdoor areas, including entrances, walkways, patios, parking areas and church grounds, particularly following church services, rentals, and special events
Qualifications:
- Previous janitorial or cleaning experience is an asset
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Reliable and punctual
- Physically able to perform cleaning duties, including lifting, bending and standing for extended periods
Working Hours:
- Mandatory shift: Friday night 8pm (full hall cleaning)
- Flexible hours depending on event schedule and facility needs
- Mandatory church cleaning TBD
- The position averages approximately 20 hours per week; however, some weeks may require additional hours depending on the church calendar, facility rentals and special events.
- Flexibility is required
Salary & Certifications:
- Hourly wage to be discussed based on qualifications and experience.
- WHMIS certificate required (cost covered and included in salary)
- CRC Criminal records check required (cost with be covered )
