We have Developer Intern opportunities with the Enterprise Enabling Technology Solutions (EETS) group in Mississauga, ON.

The Collaborative and Social Technologies (CAST) team is part of EETS and is responsible for building and maintaining the enterprise intranet. Features of the intranet range from basic content rendering to embedded applications and social media. This is a mixed environment consisting of both vendor products and custom development. Technologies include:
IBM Websphere Portal Server
IBM Connections
Microsoft SharePoint
OpenText Teamsite for Content management
Search Engine Technologies
Web Analytics
The Application Development team within CAST is responsible for development, deployment and support of Portal, Connections and SharePoint functionality, including integration with the other technologies mentioned. An ideal candidate would have an understanding and passion to learn about the technologies supporting corporate Intranets, Collaboration Platforms, Web Content Management Systems, Search Engines, and the supporting Analytics.

How You Will Contribute
We have opportunities on various EETS teams and job responsibilities for students will vary by area. This may include, but is not limited to the following:
Assist in the development/maintenance of comprehensive processes for prevention of issues and participate in problem determination and timely resolution of incidents applying appropriate quality measures
Work with business partners to define and develop detailed business requirements
Perform design, development and deployment of system enhancements
Perform Unit and System Integration testing
Document system deployment plans for system implement and code deployment
Participate in Proof of Concept (POC) on new technologies and document findings
Provide recommendations with full usability analysis.
Conduct program/ system research, analysis, detailed design and problem resolution
Respond to business and users enquiries on business applications
Troubleshoot and determine root cause and resolution for application defects
Ensure defect free programming by testing and debugging using available/appropriate tools and participate in reviewing peer coding
Apply Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management Methodology (PMLC) to complete specific development tasks for projects.
Adhere to standard security coding practices to ensure application is free of most common coding vulnerabilities
Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise and keep current with leading-edge technologies trends/developments and develop expertise in TD services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery
Job Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS
What You Bring to TD
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree majoring in relevant technology programs, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology Management, etc.
Programming experience
Demonstrates leadership, ability to communicate big picture and demonstrate solutions
Self-driven, able to program to task efficiently, adapt quickly to feedback
Analytical thinking, able to see like a customer and develop solutions that meet a need or uncover a new opportunity
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and thrives working with others
A thirst for constantly exploring emerging technology
Web technologies such as JavaScript, Angular 2/React, CSS and HTML
Knowledge of standard Software Development Lifecycles
Able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Proficiency with MS Office PC software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)

Skills that would be an asset, but are not required:
Microsoft SharePoint Development (Familiarity with Visual Studio)
Unix (including shell scripting)
Java SE, Java EE (Servlet, JSP, JSF), XML (JAXP, JAXB)
Web App/Web Server, and Web Services technologies
Experience with common development frameworks (ie. Spring)
Object oriented design, including SOA and WSDL/xsd design
Web 2.0, Responsive Design, and Accessibility standards
DBMS knowledge (ie. Oracle, SQLServer, DB2 etc…)
Familiar with Cloud technology
