Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Kitchen Helper to support our culinary team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role is essential for maintaining smooth kitchen operations and ensuring high standards of food safety and cleanliness. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, basic kitchen skills, and a positive attitude towards teamwork. Previous restaurant or food industry experience is a plus but not required, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Assist with meal preparation and food handling to ensure timely service
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with basic cooking tasks and ingredient organization
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Prepare ingredients such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning as needed
- Help with food storage, labeling, and inventory management
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
- Support serving staff during busy periods by delivering prepared dishes or assisting with plating
- Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation preferred
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service setting is advantageous but not mandatory
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various kitchen tasks
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting or moving supplies safely
