BC Children’s Hospital, Child and Youth Mental Health is seeking a Clinical Counselor(Casual) for it’s Compass Program.
Compass is a province-wide service to support evidenced based care to all BC children and youth (0-25) living with mental health and substance use concerns, by supporting community care providers with information, advice, and resources they need to deliver appropriate and timely care close to home to children and youth with a focus on virtual care modalities.
The Clinical Counselor will work with the multi-disciplinary team to provide consultation to community providers and as needed direct patient care and assessment to patients. To support our children and youth with mental health and substance use concerns, our Clinical Counselors have experience and skills in a variety of therapeutic modalities including DBT, CBT, EFFT, motivational interviews, and trauma informed and attachment based practices.
What you bring:
Master’s Degree in a health related discipline such as Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology or a related health discipline from a recognized program at an accredited educational institution.
Specific training and certification applicable to program area and patient population or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Two (2) years of recent related work experience in community and/or hospital organizations that includes experience working with the designated client population, including experience in planning, coordinating and evaluating within a multi-disciplinary team setting; educating and training using a variety of teaching modalities, and facilitating or co-facilitating support groups.
Eligible for membership and registration in the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
