Commodities:Baby/Toddler/Kid - Woven Tops, Woven Bottoms, Denim, Sweaters, Outerwear,Core Knits
The Children’s Designer is responsible for owning the design development process for all commodities as needed. Responsible for presenting designs and collaborating with senior design team members, updating all files, sketching technical flats, building tech packs, BOM’S, partnering with PD as needed.
Ownership of the Design Process
Preparation of professional presentation boards for concept kick-off and line reviews with illustrations, artwork, fabrication and garment samples.
Creation of Design Development Boards according to SKU plans, sales needs and emerging trends. Responsible for all DDB design changes and updates throughout the season.
Draw accurate sketches in illustrator.
Execute and consistently update detailed tech packages in PLM.
Partner to ensure timely execution of the production development calendar.
Collaborate and work closely with cross- functional teams to ensure integrity of the product is maintained throughout to production as needed.
Work closely with Tech design during tech H/O to ensure accurate specs are created for sampling.
Attend Hand Over Production fittings as required.
Collaborate with the Senior Designer and greater Children’s Design Team with additional tasks as needed, to ensure Design Team goals are met.
Partnering with Merchandiser
Work closely with the Senior Designer on assorting, editing and curating the line to meet company quality, margin and all business expectations. Update all Design Development files.
Ensure product line adheres to all Store Model floor-plans and Fixture layouts.
Partnering with PD
Partner with PD team members to develop all aspects of the commodity components.
Responsible for building all BOM’s.
Post-secondary education from accredited fashion school.
Designer 5 years’ experience, Kids apparel design preferred.
Expert knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Centric PLM.
InDesign and 3D CLO experience a plus.
Excellent organizational, time management, communication and presentation skills.
Ability to multi –task and prioritize.
Extremely detailed and goal oriented.
Team Player with a positive attitude.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Self-starter who follows instructions well.
Ability to articulate ideas and communicate with cross-functional teams.
Strong design sensibility and understanding of the Joe Fresh Brand aesthetic.
