Production Supervisor
A mid-size manufacturer specializing in FRP tanks, fiberglass products, and custom industrial solutions, is currently seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to support daily shop-floor operations at our Scarborough facility.
The Production Supervisor will coordinate production activities, support scheduling, assign daily tasks, monitor employee attendance and overtime, coordinate material availability, and help ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing supervision, production coordination, or a lead-hand role. Experience in fiberglass, composites, or FRP manufacturing is a strong asset, but candidates with solid hands-on manufacturing experience in other industrial environments will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily production floor activities
- Support production scheduling, workflow, and job priorities
- Assign and follow up on tasks with production staff and lead hands
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, overtime, and daily time reporting
- Coordinate material availability and communicate shortages or delays
- Track production progress and report schedule risks to management
- Review drawings, work orders, production documents, and job requirements
- Coordinate with Engineering, QA, Purchasing, Shipping, and Management
- Support quality, safety, housekeeping, and company procedures
- Troubleshoot shop-floor issues and workflow bottlenecks
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to production employees
- Help improve productivity, efficiency, and workflow
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial production
- Previous supervisory, lead-hand, or production coordination experience
- Experience in custom manufacturing is preferred
- Ability to read drawings, work orders, and production documents
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Experience in fiberglass, composites, or FRP manufacturing is a strong asset
Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
