We are looking for a Finance Manager to join a family investment office in Vancouver, British Columbia on a Long-term Contract basis. This position will provide maternity leave coverage while leading the full finance and accounting function across a varied portfolio spanning distribution, hospitality, and real estate. The successful candidate will bring strong financial oversight, sound judgement, and the ability to support reporting, budgeting, and operational accounting needs in a multi-entity environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for multiple entities and ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Manage accounts payable activities, including reviewing transactions, monitoring coding, and maintaining appropriate approval controls.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation as required.
- Develop, monitor, and refine budgets and forecasts to support decision-making across a diverse investment portfolio.
- Prepare clear and timely financial packages, including materials for leadership and board-level reporting.
- Apply Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE) in financial reporting and ensure compliance across all relevant entities.
- Support inventory-related accounting processes where applicable, including valuation, tracking, and reconciliation activities.
- Provide financial analysis and practical recommendations to help leadership assess business performance and planning priorities.
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle accounting and finance activities in a multi-entity or complex business environment as CPA designated professional.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, financial review practices, and internal control principles.
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Solid understanding of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE) and their application in financial reporting.
- Experience preparing financial summaries and presentation materials for senior leadership or boards.
- Knowledge of inventory accounting principles and their impact on financial results.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively.
