Mold Designer

Lamko Tool and Mold Inc. is currently recruiting for an experienced Mold Designer in London, Ontario.
POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mold Designer will play a key role in planning and designing new molds to suit the customer’s specifications. They will also be responsible for front-line troubleshooting and problem resolution relating to the machining and final assembly of the mold on the shop floor. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications that include, but are not limited to:
- Preferably 3+ years’ experience in 3D modeling, NX mold design experience
- Preferably 3+ years of hands-on experience with injection mold design
- Strong skills in:
- Problem solving relating to mold design
- Communicating
- Time management abilities
DUTIES:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to organize and support several ongoing projects simultaneously
- Responsible for quality of projects and design and on time delivery
- Responsible for assisting customers at various stages of the mold build and attends customer meetings as required
- Resolves problems by conferring with engineering and the mold makers; providing support for manufacturing
- Meets technical support work standards by following engineering, quality and customer service standards
- Available to work flexible hours when required, occasionally outside regular business hours
- Assist with the planning and processing of BOM’s
- Ensure all customer requirements and engineering procedures are followed and documented as required
- Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College Diploma in Machine Design, Manufacturing Technology, Mold Maker, Tool and Die Design or equivalent program
- 3+ years of experience and knowledge of 3D mold design
- 3+ years of experience in the mold fabrication process
