Contributes to the overall success of the Centralized Investment Management / Wealth Management Assist in the management of investment portfolios through modelling, order creation and trading of approved securities under the supervision of a Portfolio Manager. The incumbent is also responsible for developing and managing core relationships with internal and external partners and service providers by offering a high level of customer service in support of the portfolio on-boarding, maintenance and reporting.
1. Provide portfolio management services, trade execution and support to the business line by:
Creating and executing equity, mutual fund, option and fixed income orders in a timely manner by using the various systems ( AOM, MPower, Dataphile). All orders and trades should be assessed in accordance with the portfolios mandates, models and trading policy and regulatory requirements.
Assisting with the development and execution of the portfolio management activities will include onboarding, rebalancing requests, cash management and handling special situations ; while conducting a strong due diligence before and after entering the orders.
Providing timely communication and support to the program Portfolio Manager, regularly monitoring portfolios and making changes as deemed appropriate by the supervising program Portfolio Manager
2. Provide exceptional customer service to the business line by:
Delivering the highest standard of service to both internal and external clients
Answering calls and emails from Wealth Advisors and their team regarding Products and Procedures in a timely and professional manner
Effectively handling escalated client concerns to satisfactory resolution with a view to prevent further escalation.
Handling processing discrepancies and resolving issues on a timely basis to avoid market exposure
Fostering an environment where staff members are empowered by management to confidently and effectively handle client situations.
3. Support the business line financial goals by:
Assisting in the growth of the discretionary fee based program by supporting and advocating for the various product offerings.
Seeking opportunities for cost reduction through operational efficiencies and engaging multiple support areas to carry out the business strategy
4. Contribute to the effective functioning of the Fee Based Team by:
Participating actively in team learning development activities and team performance achievements.
Building effective working relationships across the team and with various business line and corporate function contacts
Maintaining a high level of customer service
Facilitating a culture of open and honest communication
Actively participating and contributing to touch bases and team meetings
Encouraging the generation of new ideas and approaches
Actively share knowledge and experience to enhance the development of all team members
Fully licensed as an Investment Representative by IIROC
2 years Industry experience
University degree or college diploma or equivalent experience
Strong investment management knowledge and experience as it relates to understanding economic and capital markets
CIM, or its predecessor CIF , CFA or in process of attaining one of these accreditations
Advanced knowledge of Excel, Portfolio Accounting systems and Bloomberg or Reuters.
