We are hiring an experienced Cold Calling & Appointment Setting Manager to build, manage and scale our outbound appointment-setting department.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be responsible for managing the appointment setters, improving call performance, developing scripts and campaigns, tracking KPIs and ensuring the team consistently books qualified meetings for our sales representatives.
Position Overview
The Cold Calling & Appointment Setting Manager will own the daily performance of MTLI’s outbound calling team.
You will be expected to coach the team, listen to calls, improve scripts, monitor activity, manage lead lists and ensure appointments meet MTLI’s qualification standards.
You must be comfortable leading from the front. This is not a position where you simply review reports. You should be willing to make calls, test scripts and demonstrate the expected standard to the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, onboard, train and manage cold callers and appointment setters.
- Lead daily call blocks, team meetings and performance reviews.
- Develop effective cold-call scripts, objection responses and follow-up sequences.
- Monitor calls and provide direct coaching and feedback.
- Ensure setters are targeting the correct companies and decision-makers.
- Manage lead lists, territories, campaigns and CRM assignments.
- Track calls, conversations, appointments, show rates and qualified opportunities.
- Ensure all appointments are properly documented in the CRM.
- Coordinate with sales representatives to review appointment quality.
- Identify underperforming team members and create improvement plans.
- Build automations and follow-up systems that increase meeting attendance.
- Test new industries, offers, call strategies and messaging.
- Produce weekly performance reports for leadership.
- Help scale the appointment-setting team across Canada and the United States.
What Is Considered a Qualified Appointment?
A qualified appointment must meet the following requirements:
- The meeting is booked with a decision-maker or strong project influencer.
- The contact has a genuine interest in one or more MTLI services.
- The company has a current, upcoming or potential project opportunity.
- The contact is the correct person to discuss the opportunity.
- Accurate notes and project information are entered into the CRM.
- The prospect understands the reason for the meeting.
- The meeting is confirmed and properly handed over to the sales representative.
Simply booking a calendar meeting does not make it qualified.
Key Performance Indicators
The manager will be responsible for achieving and maintaining department-wide KPIs, including:
- Minimum weekly qualified appointments per setter.
- Daily outbound call and conversation targets.
- Appointment show rate.
- Qualified appointment rate.
- Conversion from appointment to opportunity.
- Conversion from opportunity to closed business.
- Accuracy and completeness of CRM notes.
- Setter attendance, activity and consistency.
- Speed of follow-up with interested prospects.
- Overall revenue generated from outbound appointments.
Each appointment setter should be expected to produce a minimum of 12 qualified meetings per week, with strong performers capable of booking 4–6 appointments per day.
Qualifications
- Previous experience managing cold callers, SDRs, BDRs or appointment setters.
- Proven experience building and improving outbound sales teams.
- Strong understanding of cold calling, lead qualification and objection handling.
- Experience managing activity and performance through a CRM.
- Excellent coaching, communication and leadership skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly accountable environment.
- Able to analyze call data and turn it into clear performance improvements.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable holding team members accountable to minimum standards.
- Experience selling industrial, construction, logistics, facility or B2B services is an asset.

Compensation will include:
- Competitive base salary.

Pay: $80,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
