Job Summary
The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the management and guiding operational activities of all programs across the organization. This role ensures the successful implementation, coordination, and continuous improvement of programs to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness within the business.
Responsibilities
Talent Manager/Coach and Relationship
- Responsible for the screening, recruitment, and hiring of site managers, and management level employees
- Will work towards establishing a diverse workforce reflective of the broader community by identifying and working to remove barriers to access.
- Will recognize and remediate barriers to advancement faced by members of equity-deserving groups.
- Will work proactively to establish and maintain communication with leadership across Summit and its partners, to build and sustain high-level relationships and facilitate cooperation and deliver meaningful results that contribute to attaining strategic objectives.
- Ensures site managers understand and accurately staff their centres to meet licensing regulations.
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team.
- Oversee the implementation of professional development opportunities.
- Oversee employee access to grants, professional development and educational opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with facility operators/owners, outside contractors and government agents.
- Maintain a positive, safe and respectful workplace environment.
Management
- Oversee the management of the Summit Start Centres.
- Review and create policies and procedures to address deficiencies or changes.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure Quality Assurance
- Conduct escalated site visits for enforcement of action plans regarding non-compliance/critical incidents, complaints, and parent concerns.
- Work with site managers to report non-compliances, complaints and critical incidents to Children Services. Inform senior management of any non-compliance, complaints and/or critical incidents
- Create tools, forms, and processes for the administration of campuses.
- Oversee and run monthly management meetings with site managers
- Work with site managers to report all WCB claims and inform senior management of incidents.
- Conduct investigation of WCB incidents and develop action plans or changes.
- Review, develop, implement and enforce Summit Standards, including programming, classroom management, behaviour management, and team management
- Audit of all facilities at least once per month.
- Oversee and assist in the planning and facilitation of centre and facility-related events.
- Assist administration in the facilitation of company events.
Financial
- Will develop and manage regional budgets
- Will analyze the financial reporting to track financial performance and identify areas for improvement
- Will engage in cost management to implement and devise strategies to control costs and optimize spending
- Will identify areas in which the company can optimize revenue generation
- Will identify opportunities for financial performance improvement and implement action plans to achieve financial efficiency and profitability.
Strategic
- Will provide high-level support and operational advice to the Director of Operations.
- Will contribute professional and managerial expertise to the plans, objectives, solutions, policies and procedures.
- Support company initiatives.
- Create yearly operational budgets including staffing for approval.
- Overseeing compliance of childcare licensing, health and fire.
- Oversee maintenance and upkeep of the facilities.
- Oversee all records related to the programs (paper and digital).
- Lead planning for assigned areas and assist the Director of Operations in developing and implementing strategic plans.
Results

Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of Licensing, Health, Fire Regulations and Summit Standards.
- In-depth knowledge of Summit policies and procedures.
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to interact with a diverse, multigenerational population.
- Ability to work long shifts or varied hours to accommodate operational or corporate events - this includes nights and or weekends.
- Excitement to drive and create new policies, processes and systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Highly detailed oriented and efficient.
- Computer proficiency and understanding of corporate used 3rd party software.
- Ability to oversee a variety of projects at the same time.
- Must be a certified Early Childhood Educator - Level 3.
- Must be certified or working towards obtaining at least Standard First and CPR B with AED.
- Hold current (or be willing to obtain) valid Police Information Check with a vulnerable sector search.
- Must have a background in management.
- Class 5 Driver’s License, with daily access to a vehicle

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
