Hiring for fibre optic technician
Responsibilities include completing fibre optic service drops for residential and business clients, with a focus on exceptional customer service.
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency with hand tools like wire cutters, screwdrivers, wrenches, and electric drills.
- Ability to work at ground level in sidewalk boxes to access buried fiber drops via conduits.
- Tasks may involve kneeling, hand digging, and burying conduits in customer yards.
- Identify and mark existing underground cables and new cable locations for burial.
- Operate equipment for locating and burying drops within designated areas.
- Assist field personnel and customers, ensuring quality work and accurate paperwork completion.
- Wear appropriate safety gear (PPE) and adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
- Drive company vehicles safely and responsibly, maintaining them as needed.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with both internal and external parties.
- Previous experience is preferred, although on-the-job training will be provided.
- Must have a cell phone
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Flexibility in working hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call availability.
Physical Demands:
- Capability for strenuous activities like lifting heavy objects, digging, and operating motor vehicles daily.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$32.00 per hour
