Job Type: Permanent Full-Time
Probation Wage: $24.30-$25.25
Probation Completion Wage: $25.85
One Year Wage: $27.21
*Pay ranges are dependent on shift and experience
Afternoon Shift: Monday to Friday: 3:00pm-11:30pm
Night Shift: Sunday evening to Friday morning: 10:00pm - 6:30am
**Must be flexible to work all shifts. Determined shifts are straight shifts**
Spot Welder - Key Responsibilities
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (or the “Act”) and the regulations; use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that Mott requires to be used or worn; report to the Supervisor the absence or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger themselves or another worker; and report to the Supervisor any contravention of the Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which the worker is aware
- Read Mott drawings to determine requirements
- Set controller to the required heat, matching type of steel and thickness
- Spot weld & test first off samples and record results
- Check parts to drawings for quality and quantity
- Fit correct parts together as per drawings
- Use appropriate jigs when required
- Verify welded assemblies to drawings and place on carts for paint
- Maintain integrity of weld continuously through the process
- Metal finish when needed
- Change tips and proper set up
- Perform other duties as required
Skills & Experience:
- Ability to read blueprints and data sheets
- Ability to work with power hand tools effectively (ie. cordless drill)
- Must know how to use a tape measure
- Basic math skills
- Good organizational skills
- Physically fit for heavy lifting of > 35 lbs
