Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-in Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for clients in Toronto. The ideal candidate will support seniors or individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role requires a nurturing personality, strong caregiving skills, and the ability to manage various daily living activities. Experience in assisted living, patient care, or nursing home environments is highly valued. The caregiver will live on-site and work closely with clients to promote independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration and monitor health conditions as prescribed
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Support clients with mobility challenges, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Engage clients in social activities or recreational pursuits to promote mental well-being
- Monitor for signs of dementia or hospice-related needs and respond appropriately
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed
- Maintain detailed records of care provided and any changes in health status
Requirements
- Proven experience in assisted living, senior care, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge of dementia care, medication administration, and home care best practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
- Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to prepare meals that meet specific dietary requirements
- Prior experience in nursing home settings or nursing is a plus
- Flexibility to live on-site as part of the caregiving team in Toronto
- Valid certification in caregiving or relevant health training is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
Pay: $170.00-$200.00 per day
