Responsibilities:
- Complete required job-specific paperwork daily
- Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including fixtures, piping, and system components.
- Identify the source of leaks and assess hydraulic systems.
- Install, cut, thread, glue, and solder pipes, including copper piping using a torch.
- Install, Maintain and service various pump systems, including:
- Boiler circulator pumps, centrifugal pumps, chilled condenser, heating.
- Sewage ejector pumps
- Storm pumps
- Domestic cold/hot water booster pumps and storage systems
- Pressure-reducing valves install, service and repair
- Replace, install, and troubleshoot all types of plumbing fixtures, electronic flush valves, and faucets.
- Clear clogged drains using tools such as plungers, snakes, and hydro-jet equipment.
- Communicate effectively with customers to diagnose problems and explain solutions.
- Maintain organization while working on multiple jobs simultaneously.
- Willing to work night shifts and weekends if necessary to complete jobs.
- Manage apprentices and job sites, ability to run a crew small or large.
- Track tools, materials, and job progress to ensure efficiency.
- Accurately estimate labor hours and material quantities required for jobs.
- Perform troubleshooting on electrical components (preferred but not required).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Red Seal (Preferred).
- Valid 306A Plumbing License (Required).
- Valid Driver’s License (Required).
- G2 License (an asset).
- Backflow License (an asset).
- Minimum 5 years of experience installing and maintaining commercial building mechanical systems.
- Layout experience.
- Strong knowledge of full-building plumbing and mechanical systems.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous Forman’s responsibilities (asset).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy objects and work in various positions.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for working with small parts and tools.
- Use of electronic communication and reporting devices.
