Dishwasher/Steward Job Description:
Purpose of this Position:
Dishwashers/Stewards are responsible for maintaining health, safety and sanitization practices and procedures that meet food handling and food safety standards for the restaurant industry. You will work with a team of skilled culinary experts to ensure the delivery of high-quality meals, and maintain kitchen cleanliness. Each component works to create a memorable culinary experience for Ste. Anne’s guests.
Job Summary:
- Full-time, permanent position
- Wage: Starting from $20.60 per hour
- Paid bi-weekly
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the cleanliness of the dish area is maintained, utilizing and monitoring cleaning shift checklists
- Provide pot and dish cleaning service by cleaning food from plate into the garbage and placing plates into the rack.
- Manage garbage and recycling
- Take recycling to recycling area mid shift and end of shift or as necessary.
- Take the garbage out mid shift and end of shift or as necessary.
- Sweep the floors as needed throughout the shift and at the end of the shift.
- Wash out the garbage and recycling containers daily.
- Wash down the pantry walls daily.
- Assist with bringing order in from truck as required
- When boxes are partially full remove the large box and put remainder of items in a smaller box
Job Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to lift 30kg/75lbs
- Comfortable with bending, reaching and repetitive movements
- Must be available for evenings, weekends, or stay past scheduled shift times, if required
- Willing to provide shift coverage, if required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
