The Opportunity

Picton Mahoney Asset Management is presently seeking a Trade Operations Associate to support the firm’s timely and accurate execution of securities and trade activities. The role will serve as a liaison with the investment management team and external institutions to ensure precise trading instructions.

Responsibilities of the Role

Oversee the processing of equity, fixed income and derivative trades using the order management system
Conduct trade reviews with brokers confirmation to ensure accuracy of trade details
Provides trade instructions for settlements to external institutions (Fund Administrators, Custodians, Prime Brokers)
Reconcile firm’s position holdings with external institutions to ensure balanced entries
Identify, investigate and resolve trade and cash discrepancies
Conduct stock loan and collateral pledging processes
Interact with external vendors such as executing brokers, prime brokers and custodians
Complete and submits proxy voting according to firm’s proxy policy
Monitoring of corporate action and class action events
Other projects as required
The Qualifications and Experiences Required

University degree in business, finance or related field
Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
Minimum 2 – 3 years of related experience, preferably in Asset Management, Fund Administration or Prime Brokerage environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, Outlook
Experience using Bloomberg, Trade Order Management Systems
Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and effectively as a part of a team
Highly organized, professional and versatile
Results oriented while being flexible and adaptable
Strong verbal and written communication skills
