The Parts Coordinator reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for the procurement and inventory management of all parts and materials of production machines, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
The successful candidate should be mechanically inclined with background in automotive, equipment, or industrial parts procurement. Experience within a Food Manufacturing Industry is considered an asset. Attention to detail is critical with strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Maintain current parts inventory control coding system for the Maintenance department using CMMS software.
- Sort, code, and maintain, all parts and tool storage areas to ensure a safe working environment and accurate inventory tracking.
- Periodic inventory counts of all department parts & materials.
- Research, source, and procure required parts, restock items, mechanical equipment and/or tools.
- Establish and build applicable vendor listings, submit credit applications, and accurately create and process purchase orders (PO’s).
- Liaison between QA and Management for recommendations on critical need items, CFIA guidelines, and ordering/shipping requirements.
- Triage requests and prioritize based on urgency, cost, and lead times.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers & vendors for business continuity.
- Resolve and investigate any discrepancies in shipping, invoice errors, credits, and/or parts replacement/returns.
- Transport (drop off/pick up) of parts & materials, if applicable (local only).
- Operate basic hand or power tools
- Comply with all Health & Safety protocols, HACCP/GMP guidelines, and internal policies & procedures.
- Other general laboring duties as deemed safe and assigned by Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Post Secondary, vocational or technical training in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in diversified procurement, supply chain, inventory control, or materials management.
- Minimum 1 year experience in an industrial wholesale or manufacturing setting. Preference will be given to those within Food processing.
- Strong computer literacy with experience using Microsoft Suite applications and CMMS software.
Other Information:
- This position is non-retail, working in an active food production facility while supporting maintenance operations.
- Combination of sitting, standing, walking, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or working in temperature fluctuating environments (outdoors, refrigerated production rooms).
- Steel-toed footwear is required for this position.
Shift: 8:00AM – 4:30PM (Monday to Friday)
