Account Manager

The Account Manager will be responsible to drive distribution for all Sipco products in the Canadian market. This will be accomplished by working with our distributor partners in executing SIPCO’s sales and marketing plan at retail, distributor locations and commercial operations. This includes but is not limited to providing outstanding customer service, educating the market including store personnel, distributor representatives and end-users, merchandising and generating social media content.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Highly motivated and organized with the ability to work independently;
  • Provide outstanding customer service to retailers, distributors and end-users;
  • Must establish trust with partner channels contacts, build stronger and more valued customer relationships;
  • Ability to utilize sales process to uncover customer objections/concerns, and determine appropriate solutions;
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing on new product developments through sharing critical market intelligence for industry advancements and industry trends;
  • Strong process discipline, ability to align planning objectives with a pipeline development process to grow and develop market revenue;
  • Frequent overnight travel to attend industry events, build relationships at store level and expand brand awareness;
  • Conduct training sessions with store staff members, distributors and end-users;
  • Introduce and demonstrate new products;
  • Build and maintain creative and strategic merchandising displays at store level;
  • Generate social media content through industry events and customer interaction;
  • Provide weekly call reports, recapping your activities and successes for the week along with competitive market conditions and customer feedback;
  • Work effectively and relate well with others exhibiting a professional manner while striving to maintain constructive working relationships;
  • Communicate and work with various SIPCO departments as needed;
  • Consistently embody and model SIPCO corporate values;
  • Complete all reporting in a timely basis;
  • Protect and maintain strict confidentiality of the company, its products, formulations and processes along with the personal information of all staff members;

Quality / ISO

  • Works in an ISO certified company and complies with all applicable ISO requirements including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs) and quality assurance measures;
  • Identifies non-conformances, initiating and resolving NCR’s;

Continuous Improvement & Team Work

  • Recommends and administers policies and procedures to enhance operations;
  • Participates in weekly and monthly company meetings;
  • Participates as a team player focused on the success and well-being of the company;
  • Participates in and conducts cross training activities as required;

Safety

  • Adheres to all work safe requirements as applicable.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A University degree is preferred;
  • Progressive experience of at least 4 years in Sales, which should include Sales Representative roles and Account Management;
  • Knowledge of hydroponic, indoor and traditional/mainstream growing systems, gardening practices and methods preferred;
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills;
  • Highly evolved customer service skills;
  • Effective presentation and public speaking skills;
  • Strong computer skills;
  • Demonstrated team player and effective leadership skills;
  • Valid driver's License.

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Work conditions are normal for an Account Manager;
  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work;
  • Frequent overnight travel;
  • Must occasionally lift approximately 50 lbs.
