Here's What You Bring to the Team:
As an Estimator at Shane Homes, you are incredibly organized, detail-oriented, and can handle a fast-paced environment. Your communication skills are exceptional, and you can work effectively alongside your team, trades, and suppliers while maintaining a high-level of professionalism.
We would love it if you had these too:
- Minimum of 3 years estimating experience within the residential home construction industry.
- Experience using Sage300/Timberline, Homefront, and Precision Builder.
- A Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field.
- A positive and enthusiastic personality; with a strong desire to build relationships.
Here's What Your Day-To-Day Could Look Like:
- Produce accurate cost budgets on custom price requests for the Sales Team.
- Review sold home contracts thoroughly to ensure items on plans reconcile to amounts charged and vice versa.
- Prepare take-offs to support budgets on customer sold, spec and show homes.
- Produce accurate cost budgets on sold customer homes including customer changes and custom requests.
- Prepare job release to field for construction start and release job POs on a timely basis and in conjunction with the PO release schedule.
- Review all variances between original budget and PO amounts to provide explanation and report applicable errors in model, elevation or option assemblies to cost control.
- Review trade quotes for reasonability and approval prior to PO release.
- Prepare budgets and POs for all change orders throughout the build process.
- Review invoices exceeding PO amounts to determine legitimacy of charges and provide corrective action to prevent future duplication of variance.
- Prepare and review final job cost reports for jobs closing that month. All variances to be reviewed, reported and corrected, as necessary.
- Assist in the maintenance of the database by reporting errors and potential enhancements of all base model budgets, elevations and options assemblies.
- Providing support and assist with projects as directed by the department Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department Manager or leadership team based on business needs.
