We’re looking for an energetic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner with experience working as an MRP (Most Responsible Provider) to join us in our mission to be the primary care provider of choice in the Sudbury area. If you’re passionate about primary care, this role is for you!
As an integral member of an interdisciplinary team, the Nurse Practitioner works to full scope of practice in the provision of high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Employment Type: Full-time temporary (1 year with possibility of extension)
- Hourly Rate: $68.94-70.49 commensurate with experience
- Expected Hours: 35 per week

Role description
- Performs comprehensive health- or symptoms-directed assessments and synthesizes data from multiple sources to make a diagnosis of a disease or disorder and plan appropriate management within the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- In accordance with the philosophy of primary health care, encourages clients and their families to take responsibility for their own health care by involving them in risk factor and health problem identification, goal setting and the choices of interventions for disease treatment and prevention and health promotion
- Keeps complete, accurate, legible and timely reports of client visits, using the charting format established by Sudbury District Nurse Practitioner Clinics, which will provide information to assist other practitioners in continuing the client’s care
- Promotes and participates in an interdisciplinary provider model. Collaborates with both providers and clients to ensure that appropriate management, referral and responses to inquiries are provided
Key Qualifications/competencies
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing with current RN(EC) registration from CNO
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to travel throughout Sudbury and district
- Demonstrated computer skills, including use of electronic medical record (EMR), AI scribe tools, and web-based referral platforms
- Fluency in French and/or an Indigenous language an asset.

Who is the SDNPC and What is a Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic (NPLC)?
Nurse Practitioner Led clinics are an innovative model for delivery of comprehensive primary health care in Ontario and Canada. One of the unique aspects of the model is the incorporation of nursing leadership within an interprofessional team.
The SDNPC is Canada’s first NP led clinic, having opened in 2007. We have since grown to three clinics across the Sudbury area, with two clinics in the downtown core and one in Lively.
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing exemplary primary health care services to the residents of the Sudbury District.
