Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Foreman to lead a crew of 5+ electricians on various projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and up to the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Manage: Oversee the installation of electrical systems, guiding a team to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Project Planning: Develop schedules, monitor crew attendance, and allocate daily responsibilities.
- Training and Supervision: Mentor team members, supervise sub-contractors, and ensure all work meets project specifications.
- Safety and Compliance: Uphold all safety protocols and quality standards, ensuring compliance with Fire Alarm/Data & Security Access control requirements and the Electrical Safety Authority Code.
- Material Management: Organize and secure site materials and tools, manage material requirements, and place orders.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise on-site promptly and effectively.
- Communication: Participate in weekly Foreman meetings to discuss progress and coordinate tasks.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a Supervising/Foreman on projects valued at $500,000+ in Canada.
- Licensing: 309-A Electrician Construction-Maintenance License and completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship in Canada.
- Certifications: Basic First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, Ministry of Labour online certificate on Occupational Health and Safety, and Working at Heights certification.
- Skills: In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and safety guidelines. Excellent understanding of electrical systems such as power distribution, fire alarms, generator installations, and lighting controls. Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Effective communication and reporting abilities. Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and schedules simultaneously.
