About Active Hour
Active Hour is Ontario's leader in the Total Athlete philosophy — a multi-sport youth program where kids aged 2–12 play multiple sports in a single 60-minute circuit session. Our approach develops well-rounded, healthy, and confident young athletes through exposure to diverse movement patterns and age-appropriate skill building. All sessions use ASTM Certified equipment and include science-based progress tracking rooted in childhood physical development research.
About the Role
We are looking for an energetic , knowledgeable and experienced Soccer Coach to lead the soccer component of our multi-sport circuit sessions. The ideal candidate has competitive playing experience, a strong understanding of the fundamentals, and a genuine passion for working with young children along with prior experience of coaching for 2-3 years.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate soccer drills, passing exercises, small-sided games, and skill-building activities for children aged 2–12
- Teach foundational to intermediate soccer skills including dribbling, passing, shooting, positioning, and basic game tactics.
- Manage groups of varying skill levels and ensure every child is engaged, learning, and having fun.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and encouraging training environment at all times
- Assist with other sports in the circuit (Basketball, Athletics, Kids Gym, Zumba) when needed.
- Track and communicate individual player progress to the head coach and program coordinator
- Set up and break down all training equipment before and after sessions
- Follow all Active Hour safety protocols and session guidelines
- Be a reliable, punctual, and positive role model for young athletes
Requirements
- Must be 23 years of age or older
- 2+ years of coaching experience to toddlers, pre schoolers and graders.
- Playing experience at a school, college, club, or district level
- Strong understanding of soccer rules, positioning, and fundamentals
- Experience working with children is preferred
- High energy, patient, and able to keep young children focused and motivated
- Reliable and punctual
- First-aid certification or awareness is a plus
- Must be willing to complete a background check
