Behaviour Therapist – Children with Autism
Empowered Academy is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Behaviour Therapist to join our team supporting children with autism and other developmental needs.
The Behaviour Therapist works directly with children to implement individualized Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) programming designed to build meaningful skills, increase independence, and support each child’s overall development.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized ABA programs under clinical supervision
- Support communication and language development
- Teach social and emotional regulation skills
- Support positive behaviour development and coping strategies
- Develop functional life skills and independence
- Support school readiness, attention, and learning skills
- Collect accurate data and document client progress
- Follow Behaviour Support Plans and individualized treatment recommendations
- Participate in team meetings, training, and clinical supervision
- Create a positive, engaging, and supportive environment for children
- Communicate professionally with families and members of the clinical team
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Behavioural Science, Psychology, Child and Youth Care, Autism and Behavioural Science, Social Service Work, or a related field
- Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of ABA principles is considered an asset
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, patient, professional, and comfortable working in an active environment
- Ability to follow individualized programming and clinical direction
- Vulnerable Sector Check required
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset

Empowered Academy provides individualized ABA therapy focused on helping children develop practical and meaningful skills that can be generalized to home, school, and community environments. Programming may target communication, social skills, emotional regulation, positive behaviour, academics, executive functioning, safety, and functional life skills.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping children learn, grow, develop confidence, and increase their independence while recognizing the individual strengths and needs of every child.
Pay: $19.00-$26.00 per hour
