Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our dynamic food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant and kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, managing food preparation and cooking processes, and maintaining a high level of hospitality. Previous experience in restaurant management, food handling, and POS systems such as Micros POS is highly desirable. A background in hospitality, hotel experience, or barista experience will be considered advantageous. The Kitchen Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations while fostering a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking to ensure quality standards are met
- Manage and train kitchen staff, including interviewing potential team members and conducting performance evaluations
- Oversee food safety procedures and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Enforce proper food handling techniques and maintain cleanliness standards in the kitchen
- Lead by example in demonstrating excellent customer service and hospitality skills
- Assist in developing menus and new food offerings to enhance guest experience
- Ensure all team members adhere to restaurant policies and procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food industry operations
- Strong leadership and team management skills with supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Excellent customer service abilities with a focus on hospitality excellence
- Proficiency with POS systems, particularly Micros POS or similar platforms
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Effective communication skills for interviewing, training, and team coordination
- Ability to manage restaurant operations efficiently under pressure
- Experience with restaurant management or hotel industry is preferred
- Background in serving or barista roles is a plus for understanding diverse customer needs
