Responsibilities
- Manage and track multiple immigration cases using case management software such as iManage and LexisNexis.
- Conduct thorough research on immigration laws, policies, and case precedents to support case development.
- Draft legal documents, affidavits, and correspondence with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Assist clients by conducting interviews to gather necessary information for case preparation.
- Perform data entry tasks ensuring all case information is correctly recorded and updated.
- Proofread all documents for grammatical accuracy, consistency, and compliance with legal standards.
- Organize and file case documents systematically, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Communicate effectively with clients via phone or written correspondence, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Support project management efforts by coordinating deadlines, preparing reports, and tracking progress of cases.
- Collaborate with attorneys and other team members to ensure timely completion of case-related tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience in administrative roles within a legal or immigration setting is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Excellent proofreading, writing skills, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with legal research or case management.
- Experience in interviewing clients and gathering relevant information efficiently.
- Knowledge of legal drafting standards related to immigration law.
- Proficiency in data entry, filing systems, and clerical tasks with high accuracy.
- Good research skills to stay updated on current immigration policies and procedures.
- Strong communication skills with professional phone etiquette.
