The Project Estimator is a dynamic role that reports directly to the Operations Manager within the Connectivity Division in Telecon in AB. The Project Estimator will be responsible for preparing estimates, budgets and working with the Project Management team.


Analyze public and private tender documents
Participate in preliminary site walks and create preliminary design plans for site walks
Review and finalize As-Built designs for Job closure packages
Make a statement of the quantities according to plans and specifications
Make price requests to suppliers and subcontractors
Estimate using specialized software
Prepare the preliminary work schedules
Analyze market and competition trends
Close the bids with the management team by demonstrating that the estimates are competitive
Assist project managers / project managers periodically in estimating additional work or other related estimation tasks.
Other duties as assigned

College or professional degree in a discipline deemed relevant
Minimum 2 years’ experience in estimating structured cabling projects
RCDD certification an asset
Valid driver's license
Good knowledge of the software of the MS Office suite
Analyze and interpret plans and specifications
Attentive to details
Must be willing to travel occasionally

Self-starter with the ability works well with minimum or no direct supervision
Ability to work well under pressure with tight timelines and frequent deadlines
Demonstrated professional oral & written communication skills
Strong work ethic; coordinating multiple tasks & exhibit strong time management and planning skills to achieve successful outcomes
Ability to positively develop working relationships with a positive attitude
Exceptional Customer Service; ability to effectively handle both favorable and unfavorable customer interactions;
Demonstrated ability to identify problems and situations, take appropriate action, implement solutions or escalate as required
Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and collaboratively with other departments and clients
