Now hiring for Parts and Mechanics Assistant at Iron Creek Truck & Trailer Daysland.
This Full Time newly created entry level position has 2 aspects. The successful candidate will work at times as a mechanics assistant, learning the basics of heavy truck repair while also independently performing maintenance tasks such as oil changes, grease jobs, and rudimentary repairs. As the team member with lowest seniority, it will fall to you to perform daily shop janitorial duties such as sweeping floors and emptying garbages.
Additionally, based on the needs of the two departments, you will assist in the parts store with duties such as shipping/receiving, stocking shelves, assembling orders as well as basic janitorial duties, while learning the ins and outs of parts sales and marketing.
This position is a gateway to begin learning 2 trades, with the option to move permanently into one or the other if a high degree of competence, dedication and quality of work is demonstrated in time.
The successful candidate will have at least a passing knowledge of the mechanical world such as readily identifying basic engine and automotive components, and will likely have done their own oil changes and light maintenance on their own vehicles. This person will be comfortable working in a fast paced environment with the ability to learn and remember methods and components while working at a steady and reasonable pace.

Wage for this position begins at $18/hr with the potential for more commensurate with experience. There is a comprehensive benefits package, paid coffee breaks, a supportive, family oriented work environment, and a steady Monday to Friday work week with 8 hour days. Overtime at time and a half is often available.
