Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable full-time Property Maintenance Handyman/Handywoman to join our team. The Property Maintenance Handyman/Handywoman is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and preventative upkeep of resort facilities. This role ensures all guest rooms, public areas, pools, and building systems are safe, functional, and maintained to high hospitality standards while providing timely and professional service to guests and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair work including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, grout and masonry work, and basic HVAC tasks
- Conduct pool testing, chemical balancing, and routine pool area inspections in accordance with health and safety regulations (Training can be provided)
- Perform water system testing, including monitoring water quality, temperatures, and system functionality (Training can be provided)
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, mechanical rooms, and outdoor spaces for maintenance and safety issues
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations
- Carry out preventative maintenance programs to reduce equipment failure and downtime
- Repair or replace fixtures, lighting, doors, locks, furniture, appliances, and hardware
- Assist with room turns, renovations, deep cleaning support, and seasonal maintenance projects
- Maintain tools, equipment, chemical supplies, and work areas in safe and organized condition
- Work closely with management and external contractors when required
- Follow all hotel policies, safety procedures, OSHA standards, and local health regulations
- Provide courteous, professional, and discreet service to guests at all times
- Accurately document completed work, pool and water test results, and report ongoing issues
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in hotel, resort, or commercial maintenance preferred
- Knowledge of pool maintenance, water testing procedures, and chemical handling
- Experience with masonry work strongly preferred
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical and carpentry
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and guest service skills
- Pool Operator Certification (CPO) or willingness to obtain (preferred)
Schedule & Availability
- Must be available to work days, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
- Flexible scheduling based on operational needs
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
