We are currently seeking a qualified Health & Safety Coordinator / COR Program Lead to join our team. This position will play a key role in managing our health and safety program, supporting field staff, maintaining compliance with applicable legislation, and leading the company through the Certificate of Recognition (COR) certification process.
The ideal candidate will have direct experience with COR requirements and will be comfortable organizing documentation, developing procedures, conducting site inspections, supporting training, and working with both office and field staff to improve safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support Superior Air Systems’ efforts to obtain and maintain COR certification
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, forms, and programs
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, hazard assessments, and risk assessments
- Assist with preparation for internal and external COR audits
- Maintain and organize safety records, training records, certifications, inspection reports, incident reports, JHAs, PSAs, toolbox talks, and related documentation
- Provide safety guidance and support to field staff, supervisors, and management
- Coordinate and track employee safety training requirements
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards, and assist with corrective action follow-up
- Review and update company health and safety procedures to ensure compliance with OHSA and applicable regulations
- Support site-specific safety planning for HVAC, sheet metal, refrigeration, gas piping, rooftop, crane/hoisting, electrical coordination, and construction-related work
- Promote a practical and consistent safety culture across the company
- Act as a primary point of contact for health and safety matters
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety Coordinator, Safety Advisor, COR Coordinator, or similar role
- Direct COR experience is strongly preferred
- Experience helping a company obtain, maintain, or prepare for COR certification is considered a major asset
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario health and safety legislation, including OHSA and construction regulations
- Experience in construction, HVAC, mechanical contracting, or service-related trades is preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage documentation, procedures, training records, and audit requirements
- Comfortable working with both office staff and field employees
- Strong communication skills and the ability to promote safety in a practical, professional manner
- Experience with site inspections, incident investigations, hazard assessments, JHAs/JSAs, toolbox talks, and corrective actions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management software is an asset
- Health and safety certification such as NCSO, CRSP, CHSO, or equivalent is an asset
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of our health and safety program and help move our COR certification forward. The successful candidate should be organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a small-to-medium-sized construction/service environment where practical safety support is just as important as documentation.
Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and COR knowledge.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
