Summary
Working from our North West Edmonton location at 11724-180 ST NW and reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor will be a key member of our Lubricant Warehouse team. This position is a hands-on Supervisor role responsible for:
- producing finished oil and lubricants productions (drums / pails / totes)
- Reconditioning containers (I.e., drums) for the purpose of re-use
- Providing guidance and direction across production lines
- Maintaining accountability of production while supervising staff & monitoring workflow
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of employees
Duties and responsibilities:
- Work closely and report to the Operations Manager
- Promote and develop a positive team-oriented approach to all tasks
- Communicate in an effective and professional manner with all employees
- Manage and execute the Site Operational Plan
- Plan, direct and implement warehouse operations procedures and support to meet prescribed productivity and service levels.
- Ensure timely resolution on quality assurance issues, overages, shortages, and damaged freight.
- Develop and maintain a productive, motivated work force by ensuring effective hiring, training and development of production personnel.
- Provides timely and appropriate performance reviews to all warehouse personnel.
- Developing and reporting of KPI’s and implementing of corrective actions.
- Motivate employees to work in a safe and efficient manner
- Provide oversight to ensure that employees and contractors are operating as per the management system expectations
- Ensure employees adhere to company procedures and policies
- Communicate with senior management on operational focal points
- Implement, and maintain appropriate programs to ensure that all safety and housekeeping standards and objectives are met, while minimizing accidents.
- Assure compliance to regulations regarding training competencies for staff and WCB guidelines.
- Maintain equipment and services to assure security of customer and company assets
Qualifications:
- Post Secondary Education in related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience in warehousing and production lines, as well as supervisory experience is necessary
- Proficiency in operating forklifts (sit down counterbalance).
- Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of applications; must be computer savvy
- SAP experience is an asset
- Skilled in planning, controlling workflow, and communicating
- Effective team building. Proven leadership with building and leading cohesive teams
- Excellent time management skills and an ability to work within strict deadlines
- Advanced problem solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills
- Positive attitude and a strong team player
- Able to effectively lead through high pressure situations
- Excellent attention-to-detail
