We are seeking two Data Analysts to support a major data migration initiative involving the analysis, validation, and migration of data from legacy systems to a new target environment. These roles will play a key part in improving data quality, documenting data structures, and ensuring accurate and reliable data migration.
We are looking for candidates with strong hands-on SQL skills and previous experience working on data migration or system consolidation projects. Ideally, one successful candidate will have a stronger background in data quality and governance, while the other will have deeper experience in data modeling, ERDs, and data mapping.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform data profiling and establish data quality baselines across legacy systems, including:
- Completeness
- Validity
- Uniqueness
- Consistency
- Identify duplicate records and support golden record/survivorship analysis.
- Support data governance activities, including:
- Data classification
- Retention and disposition recommendations
- Maintaining and tracking data quality issues
- Validate and maintain Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) and data dictionaries.
- Develop legacy-to-target data mappings at the table and column level.
- Assist with proof-of-concept data migration activities using test environments.
- Analyze source system data and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to resolve data issues.
- Support testing and validation to ensure migrated data is complete, accurate, and fit for purpose.
- Document findings, mapping rules, and migration processes.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working as a Data Analyst on data migration, system modernization, or data consolidation projects.
- Strong hands-on SQL experience with:
- Oracle
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Data profiling and data quality analysis
- Data modeling, ERDs, and data mapping
- Experience analyzing complex datasets and identifying data quality issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with both data quality/governance and data modeling/mapping.
- Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices.
- Experience creating or validating data dictionaries and metadata documentation.
- Familiarity with master data management concepts, including duplicate detection and survivorship rules.
- Experience supporting data migration testing and validation.
