Job Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to lead the company in profitably growing long products across the Canadian Region. This role is designed with a commercial focus & travel will be required across Canada as needed. This role will work closely with the current senior Canadian Product Management Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales & Planning
o Develop and maintain strategic plan for Aluminum/Stainless & Carbon long products across Canada, involving multiple resources within the company that are required to assist and participate in plan development.
o Actively engage in customer facing visits across all markets developing business relations and sales support.
o Develop inventory support, aligned with sales growth to assist with the successful execution of the market’s long products strategic plan.
o Communicate the strategic plan to each market.
o Account focus generation of Pipeline accounts across Canada for profitable growth, assisting in positive churn results.
Inventory Management and Pricing
o Development and maintenance of strategic inventory maintenance for Long Products across Canada.
o While understanding inventory values & investments, balance contract and transactional inventories properly while focusing on the company’s goals of days of supply (DOS) levels.
Supplier Relations
o Select and develop the critical supply chains that can best serve the Canadian strategic plans; Collaborate with the procurement team as an important resource for Canada with Key suppliers.
Annual Budgeting
o Collaborate with each branch sales managers & General Managers, to develop and approve annual sales plans for Long Products, producing a national plan with market direction from this activity.
o Maintain the designed sales growth activity plans and drive ownerships within markets.
Quality
o Develop a clear understanding of industry and customer quality requirements which can be utilized effectively across markets.
o Manage vendor measurement and mill vetting to match the above requirements.
Requirements
- Post-Secondary preferred - Diploma or Degree.
- 5-10 years commercial sales experience.
- Branch management or sales management experience with strong product knowledge of key product lines, markets & suppliers would be beneficial.
- Understanding of warehouse facility and equipment capacity/capabilities.
- Proficiency of computer skills and social media (MS Office, SAP etc.).
- Knowledge of Company policies, ISO quality standards, inventory control procedures and reports.
- Strong understanding of business requirements including relative impacts of EVA & Ebitdar.
