Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Tagalog-speaking female caregiver with a valid driver’s license to provide high-quality personal care and support to our clients. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, ensure safety, and promote well-being in a home or assisted living environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities, requiring strong caregiving skills and cultural sensitivity.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility assistance
- Assist with medication administration and health monitoring as directed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Support clients with activities of daily living, including toileting and transferring
- Drive clients to appointments, errands, or social activities safely and punctually
- Engage clients in meaningful conversation and recreational activities to promote mental well-being
- Observe and report any changes in health status or behavior to family members or healthcare providers
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, especially when working with individuals with dementia or disabilities
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home, home care, or hospice care preferred
- Strong background in patient care, senior care, dementia care, or working with individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge of medication administration and basic nursing skills is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for mobility assistance or transfers
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required for transportation duties
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills in Tagalog; bilingual abilities are highly valued
- Reliable, patient, and attentive to the needs of vulnerable populations
- Ability to work independently while following care plans and safety guidelines
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Edmonton, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
