Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Automotive License Mechanic to join our service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostics, with the ability to perform a variety of mechanical tasks efficiently and accurately. This role involves working on a diverse range of vehicles, utilizing both hand and power tools, and ensuring all repairs meet safety and quality standards. Experience with dealership operations, welding, and reading schematics is highly valued. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics and repairs, including engine, transmission, brake systems, and electrical components
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to execute repairs and assembly tasks
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues
- Assist with vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed for each vehicle
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service orders
- Adhere to safety protocols during all repair procedures, including heavy lifting and working with potentially hazardous materials
- Support vehicle assembly or disassembly as needed for complex repairs or upgrades
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair needs and solutions clearly to clients
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an automotive mechanic, preferably with dealership background
- Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Experience with automotive repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques
- Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for effective customer interactions
- Certification or license in automotive repair is preferred but not mandatory; licensing requirements vary by location
