Community Living Port Colborne-Wainfleet (CLPCW) is recruiting one Temporary Manager, Adult Services responsible for managing the daily operations and activities of the Adult Services Department. This includes the supervision of all staff and ensure high quality care for people supported by CLPCW.
Responsibilities
Directing, planning, developing and organizing group living locations in accordance with existing legislation and MCCSS compliance requirements as well as the association’s established policies and procedures
Overall management of the day-to-day operations of assigned programs
Working with people in such manner as to build high morale and group commitments to goals and objectives
Promoting the use of and ensuring employees are following the principles of person-centered thinking
Demonstrating commitment to the Associations’ Vision, Mission and Values by promoting community inclusion
Be knowledgeable with the Collective Agreement, Quality Assurance Measures, all Policies and Procedures as well as Health and Safety legislation.
Responsible for admissions and end of services within Group Living
Oversee the development and the implementation of Individual Support Plans
Developing in-house procedures, protocols, etc.
Directing the coordination of services and support for people supported
Day-to-day oversight of CLPCW employees, students and volunteers. Ensuring that staff are following all policies and procedures
Work closely with all departments
Reviewing and updating policies and procedures
Financial overview for each person supported
Program finances: ledgers, credit card, ordering items, payables, etc.
Ensuring communication is happening as needed with PGT, ODSP workers, specialists, etc. to ensure the continuity of care for the person supported
Reporting, investigating and following up with incidents as necessary
Approving scheduling requests (LOA, shift changes, etc.)
AIMS monitoring and follow up
Participate in and maintain all required mandatory training and certification (NVCI, First Aid, Health and Safety, Annual Training, Policies and Procedures)
Participate in ALT meetings, Manager Meetings as well as any other meetings pertaining to committees, Health and Safety, etc.
Onboarding of new employees
Ensure house specific training is completed and reviewed as required
Managers are expected to work evenings and weekends as operational needs require and must maintain a flexible schedule that may include any day from Monday through Sunday. In addition, all Managers participate in an on-call rotation, providing coverage Monday through Thursday and taking part in a rotating weekend on-call schedule.
Experience, Knowledge and Skill
University or College graduate in the Developmental Service Sector, Health Care, Recreation, Psychology or related field
Leadership/Management course is an asset
Minimum of 3 years Community Living experience with demonstration of strong management skills.
Excellent management and supervisory skills
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Ability to communicate professionally in a verbal and written form
Ability to supervise and coordinate employees in a wide variety of professional and administrative operations and activities
Ability to work independently and productively Ability to utilize a variety of computer programs efficiently
