WAGE RATE: $37.071 – $38.157
Reporting to the Program Manager, Ambulatory Services, the Registered Practical Nurse, provides nursing care to ambulatory patients in the endoscopy clinics across all phases of the patient journey, including pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure care, both independently and collaboratively as a key member of an integrated care team.
Ensures patient safety, comfort, and well-being by performing direct nursing interventions in accordance with clinical standards and best practices. Actively collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals, including members of the endoscopy clinic team, to support coordinated, high-quality patient care and optimal procedural outcomes.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
Required:
- Current Registration with the Ontario College of Nurses
- Successful completion of a perioperative nursing certificate OR successful completion of AORN endoscopy certificate and/or at least 1 year endoscopy experience in the last 2 years with willingness to obtain certification within 1 year.
- Ability to scrub
- Knowledge of the current ORNAC standards
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment
- Ability to function as a team member
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to flex time to meet unit’s need
- Proven verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving, decision making and organizational skills
- Ability to respond to urgent/emergency situations
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
