INTERMEDIATE CLERK I
Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Accounting and Purchasing, the Intermediate Clerk I is responsible for a broad range of administrative and operational functions supporting the department and organization.
Operating out of the Education Centre, this position manages vendor administration, departmental records retention, departmental purchasing and ordering, inventory and supply coordination, invoice processing support, and a variety of clerical and administrative duties to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
The role also provides backup coverage for reception/switchboard, and mailroom operations, ensuring professional and courteous front-line service to internal and external stakeholders.
As this position is within the Accounting and Purchasing department, duties can also include accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including data entry, payment processing, account reconciliation support, and responding to vendor and customer inquiries.
This position regularly works under tight deadlines, manages competing priorities, and handles confidential information with discretion and accuracy. Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills are essential to supporting departmental objectives and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Schedule:
Daily – 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
35 hours weekly
12 month position.
Salary Range: $25.85 - $30.04 per hour
Required: Grade 12 Diploma. Strong interpersonal, customer service, problem solving and decision making skills are required. Must have the ability to work independently and as a team member and possess strong clerical and organizational skills. Able to problem solve, make decisions and work within strict deadlines. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and Outlook. Lifting is required; testing will be part of the selection process.
Preferred: Experience with JD Edwards & knowledge of basic accounting principles would be an asset.
