Nanda & Associate Lawyers is a growing multi-practice law firm serving clients throughout Ontario. We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Lawyer to join our expanding litigation department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing litigation files independently from intake through resolution and will work on a broad range of civil and commercial disputes.
Practice Areas
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Construction lien litigation
- Construction trust claims
- Construction deficiency disputes
- Commercial litigation
- Contract disputes
- Shareholder and partnership disputes
- Employment law and wrongful dismissal matters
- Real estate litigation
- Debt recovery and enforcement proceedings
- Injunctions and urgent court applications
- General civil litigation matters
Responsibilities
- Manage litigation files independently from commencement through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motion materials, applications, affidavits, facta, and settlement documents
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions
- Attend discoveries, mediations, motions, pre-trials, and court appearances
- Negotiate settlements and represent clients in dispute resolution proceedings
- Provide practical and strategic legal advice to clients
- Maintain regular client communication and strong client service standards
- Work collaboratively with support staff and other lawyers within the firm
Qualifications
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Minimum 5 years of civil litigation experience preferred
- Strong advocacy, negotiation, and legal drafting skills
- Ability to manage files independently with minimal supervision
- Experience appearing before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong client relationship and business development abilities
- Experience in construction litigation, commercial litigation, or employment law is considered a significant asset
