The impact you'll make
As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for building an industry leading online grocery delivery platform. Your mandate will be to deliver technical innovation surrounding the delivery customer experience, as well as the operational backbone to support delivery operations. You will collaborate with stakeholders from operations, customer service, design and product management to deliver industry leading features for our customers nationally. You will use data every single day to uncover meaningful insights that inform your experimentation strategy and ultimately, your product roadmap.
What You'll Do
Work with Product Managers, Designers and Business Stakeholders in the roadmap definition process
Plan and manage product sprints
Analyze, plan and develop requirements and standards in reference to upcoming company projects
With your experience and judgment, influence the business on how software can enhance end user experience.
Work with your team to continuously drive improvements in quality and productivity
Mentor, and coach developers, through design sessions, code reviews and pair programming.
Be an active participant in hiring new team members and providing performance management
Establish and implement training processes and strategies for technical personnel
Delegate tasks and manage all technical issues within the team
Organize and participate in our twice a year hackathons, where technology and business work together to create cool things

You are a seasoned developer with solid object-oriented programming skills and mentorship experience.
You are opinionated about what it takes to produce great software, but remain receptive to other's ideas.

You are experienced with software estimation, often confronted with complexity and uncertainty.
You make decisions based on data. You are versed with tools to measure every aspect of the application.

You are a good communicator. You are able to present complicated solutions to non-technical audience in a simple and logical way.

Provide technical systems guidance.
Lead technical architecture for a whole component
Conduct performance reviews. Set accountability for team members.
Align the team's work with the company's strategic and tactical goals.
Shield the team from distractions.
Perform advanced project management duties.
Define the long term vision for the team's component.
Provide escalation resolution for your team.
Establish standards for code and systems.
Lead technical architecture for component relationships.
Have one-on-one meetings with team leads.
Provide workplace and career guidance.
Create process for assigning decision-making responsibilities.
Establish standards for processes and co-ordination.
