Plant Manager – Responsibilities
- Oversee daily plant operations including receiving, cleaning, grading, sizing, splitting, loading/unloading, and storage activities
- Operate and supervise processing equipment including cleaners, gravity tables, de-stoners, indents, and color sorters
- Monitor grain and pulse grading standards and ensure product quality specifications are consistently met
- Lead and supervise plant staff (up to approximately 15 employees), ensuring productivity, safety, and operational efficiency
- Coordinate production schedules and prioritize workflow to meet customer and operational requirements
- Support maintenance activities and troubleshoot operational issues to minimize downtime and maintain equipment reliability
- Maintain food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards throughout plant operations
- Track plant performance and contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives
- Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and computer-based tracking related to production and operations
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment
Plant Manager – Qualifications
- Approximately 5+ years of progressive experience within grain or pulse processing operations (e.g. Plant Operator, Lead Hand, Supervisor, Assistant Plant Manager, or Plant Manager)
- Experience operating and supervising pulse/grain processing equipment such as cleaners, gravity tables, de-stoners, indents, and color sorters
- Grain and/or pulse grading experience
- Previous experience leading or supervising employees within a grain, pulse, agricultural commodities, or food processing environment
- Strong understanding of grain and pulse processing operations, product flow, quality standards, and plant operations
- Working knowledge of maintenance coordination and equipment troubleshooting
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and food safety standards
This role is ideal for someone who has progressed through grain or pulse processing operations into a leadership position.
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
