The Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Program is Level 4 clinic that specializes in providing intensive and evidence-based treatment to individuals diagnosed with moderate to severe Borderline Personality Disorder within a community setting. Clients treated by the DBT Program are typically high acuity with chronic suicide attempts, suicide ideation, self-harm, and patterns of high-risk behaviors including substance use and disordered eating. The DBT Program is a comprehensive treatment program, where client’s needs are met through weekly individual therapy sessions, weekly skills training classes, between session phone coaching during office hours, and participation in consultation team. The DBT team is interdisciplinary, comprised of therapists of varying backgrounds, psychiatrists, other support staff, and a clinical supervisor that work closely together to support a community of clients who are actively working on a life worth living. The DBT Program has an immediate opening for a Mental Health Therapist. Reporting to the clinical supervisor and the manager, the focus of responsibility for the successful candidate will be the provision of adherent and comprehensive Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. This will include being responsible for providing assessment, treatment, and case management to high-risk individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder presenting with complex and high-risk behaviours in an outpatient, community setting. This position requires the ability, and a desire, to work within a structured clinical model and receive regular and ongoing consultation and supervision. It will also require participating in co-facilitation of a Tuesday Evening Skills Training Class on a rotating basis (e.g., every 12 months).
As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
