PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A KITCHEN HELPER POSITION. Main job is to read the items from the printed order ticket to the chef and do plating and get it ready to be served and also package for takeout.
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Order Expediter to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations by coordinating food orders, sometimes assisting with meal preparation, and supporting kitchen staff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to food safety standards. Duties
- Coordinate and plate orders between the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely service - THIS IS THE MAIN ROLE
- Additional to the above, assist with food preparation like cutting onions, supporting chefs and other kitchen staff
- Handle food safely and hygienically, adhering to all food safety regulations and standards
- Serve dishes accurately and efficiently to maintain high-quality service standards
- Support meal preparation by organizing ingredients and supplies for efficient kitchen workflow
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
- Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies and ingredients as required
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy hours
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards
- Strong understanding of serving, food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly processes
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of the food industry practices and customer service principles
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food safety, meal prep, and kitchen operations
