Reports to: Senior Manager, Corporate Marketing
Location: Toronto, ON
The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for all social media initiatives and outcomes in both the Consumer and Advisor markets to meet business goals such as brand awareness and sales. This includes developing the enterprise social media plan and calendar, preparing and curating content and executing initiatives in support of specific consumer and distribution campaigns. The Specialist will provide advice and counsel on social media tools/workflow and insurance industry trends/products, identify and implement KPI metrics and provide regular reporting to assess social media performance.
Duties will include:
Help set social media objectives and strategies to support organizational goals
Identify and implement tactics to drive key social media outcomes such as followers, awareness, engagement and organic site traffic
Establish and develop/curate content for a monthly social media calendar
Develop and implement a process to monitor and address comments, in consultation with internal SMEs as required, in a time sensitive manner
Create engaging, insightful original content and curate relevant additional content to help drive positive conversations about our brand and products
Identify opportunities to include social media platforms in the customer and advisor journeys
Track and measure social media performance through data analytics and reporting
Build knowledge of company and competitor products, sales processes and marketing strategies; monitor and report on social media trends on the financial services industry
Manage external vendor relationships, ensuring scope and deliverables meet project requirements.
Proactively seek out new opportunities for better ways to work and achieve our goals
Understand requirements and monitor overall compliance to all online policies, procedures, and brand guidelines, identifying areas of concern to be actioned or escalating as needed
Additional duties as required
3-5 years of experience in social media, content marketing, ideally in life insurance
A hunger to learn about and to grow our brand
An excellent writer and content creator, with the knowledge and ability to amplify original and curated content though social media platforms
Comprehensive understanding of the digital landscape, specifically on current and trending social media tools, techniques, capabilities and platforms
Hands-on experience developing and implementing social media strategies, including paid social media campaigns
Outstanding research and analytical skills
