COMMERCIAL ESTIMATOR & SALES
Full-Time · Commercial Renovation
We are looking for an experienced, self-directed constructionlEstimator who can carry a project from first site walk to signed contract. This is a client-facing role for someone who knows and has experience in construction. The Role
- Prepare detailed, accurate estimates for commercial construction and renovation projects, including takeoffs, material and labour costing, and subcontractor pricing
- Conduct site visits and assessments to scope work and identify project requirements
- Develop and present proposals, quotes, and tenders to clients
- Drive new business — identify opportunities, build relationships with developers and general contractors, and follow leads through to close
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms within company guidelines
- Work closely with the site manager and project teams to ensure estimates align with field realities
- Maintain a pipeline of bids and follow up on outstanding proposals
- Conduct post-project reviews comparing estimated versus actual costs to sharpen future bidding
Skills & Experience
- Several years of estimating experience in commercial construction or renovation
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and trade scopes
- Proven sales ability — comfortable cold-calling, presenting, and closing
- Proficient with estimating and takeoff software, spreadsheets, and reading blueprints and specifications
- Strong math, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication with clients, subtrades, and suppliers
- Independent and able to self-manage, prioritize multiple bids, and meet deadlines
Conduct & Accountability
- Takes full ownership of the bid pipeline from lead to award
- Represents the company professionally on site, in the office, and with clients
- Honest, transparent pricing — builds long-term relationships, not one-time wins
Requirements
- Clean driver's licence and reliable transportation for site visits and client meetings
- Trade background
- Established network in the local commercial construction market an asset
Pay: $60,000.00-$220,000.00 per year
