The Instrument Technician is responsible for planned or unplanned maintenance and repair activities on a wide range of process control and safety systems, and electronic equipment. Instrument technician also ensures that instrumentation and control systems and equipment used meet technical and safety standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take reasonable care to protect his/her health and safety and that of other workers by following Tara Energy’s safety policies & procedures, as well as government and industry regulations.
- Carryingout maintenance and testing activities on Tara Energy Services’ equipment
- Interpreting technical drawings
- Fault-finding and repairing instrumentation/electronic systems and equipment
- Modifying, repairing or replacing systems and equipment
- Preparing reports on work done
- Participating in risk assessments as part of daily operations including but not limited to working safely around industrial machinery, working from heights, in confined spaces and possible adverse weather conditions
- Familiarity with ABB gas flow metering systems
- Familiarity with SCADA data acquisition systems
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 2 years or more of related industry experience required
· Completion of mandatory company safety training requirements as defined by
management
· Ability to guide and direct team of service and maintenance professionals
· Journeyman or Level 1 or Level 2 certification preferred
