As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Program Supervisor who can provide steady leadership, uphold strong operational standards, and foster a positive team culture.
This role works closely with the Childcare Director and is responsible for supporting both the day-to-day operations and the overall quality of programming within the centre. The ideal candidate is confident in leading a team, adaptable in a fast-paced setting, and grounded in best practices in early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the daily operations of the centre to ensure a safe, organized, and high-quality environment
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation, including Child Care Licensing and Environmental Public Health standards
- Promoting developmentally appropriate practices, including inclusive approaches for children of all abilities (birth to age six)
- Building strong, respectful relationships with families and community partners
- Supporting program implementation, including alignment with the FLIGHT curriculum and familiarity with approaches such as Reggio Emilia and Waldorf
- Providing clear, professional communication across all levels of the organization
- Supervising, mentoring, and supporting staff with scheduling, performance, and workplace concerns
- Maintaining accurate records, documentation, and administrative systems
- Assisting with fee tracking and supporting financial accountability within the centre
- Providing classroom support as needed to meet ratio and operational requirements
- Completing observations and contributing to staff performance discussions
- Assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and team integration
- Leading by example through reliability, flexibility, and professionalism
- Supporting staff in planning and delivering engaging, high-quality programming
- Participating in centre initiatives, including community events and fundraising
What You Bring
- Experience working with children in a structured educational or caregiving environment
- A strong foundation in early childhood education or a related discipline
- Experience supporting children with diverse needs is an asset
- Proven ability to lead, communicate effectively, and stay organized
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work well with teams and families
- A genuine interest in supporting children’s growth and well-being
- A patient, inclusive, and respectful approach to working with others
Qualifications
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education (minimum 2 years)
- ECE Level 3 Certification (Child Development Supervisor)
- At least 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a childcare setting
- Solid understanding of childcare legislation and public health requirements
- Valid First Aid with CPR (Level B or C), or willingness to obtain
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (within 6 months)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office; experience with Kindertales is an asset
- Physically able to meet the demands of the role, including lifting up to 40 lbs and working at children’s level
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; additional languages are considered an asset
- Leadership or management training is an asset
